Demos for Saturday 10 August

Viking Ceramics: Slab built storage jar with decoration. This will be ongoing all day.

Games: Hneftafl, Fidtchel, 12 Man Morris. Demos will be all day.

Due to insurance and health concerns, Modern Urban Viking Cooking is not allowed to feed the general public. It’s not that my food isn’t safe, it’s that we live in a ligneous society. I’m not willing to destroy my livelihood because you want a taste and may be allergic to something in my recipe. Sign up with The Sons of Norway and you get to eat.

Performer menu for MUVC on Sunday 23 June

Breakfast and assorted day nibbles for performers:

Assorted berries, hard smoked cheeses, dried & salted fava beans, spring green onions, radishes, and crisp bread.

Demo 1 beginning at 11.30 and served at 1 to the performers.

Fennel, Fish, & Bean Stew

A delicate blend of dried fish, fava beans, and fennel mixed with dulse and red sea cabbage.

Demo 2 to begin at 1.30 and served at 3 to the performers.

Carrot Thyme

A lot of carrots stewed slowly in butter, honey, and thyme until tender and succulent.

Demo 3 to begin at 3 and served to performers at 4.30.

Savory Oats & Pease

Whole oat groats, peas, onions, herbs, and cream make this porridge a fantastic meal!
