These replica ceramic pieces are designed for use outside. Even if you aren’t out raiding, these pieces are not delicate and not to be kept indoors all the time. Take your tumblers, mugs, bowls, pitchers, urns, and cooking pots outside. Cook with them, play with them, and participate in life with them. You absolutely can use them indoors, but not exclusively!
Go outside and play!
I use modern materials and techniques to achieve a historic look for a piece of new pottery that looks like it came from a kiln in Denmark in about 900CE. I use Buff Stoneware. Most of my pieces are thrown, but I do handwork as well; slab and coil. Each piece is compressed so as few voids are possible in the clay. This means each piece is very sturdy.
My glazes are food safe, oven safe, dishwasher safe, microwave safe. Basically anything you do to Pyrex, you can do to my pieces. The outside is an underglaze to make it a facsimile to an oxygen reduction pit fire. The inside is Textured Amber Brown to make it food safe.
Textures are all period correct bones, shells, pieces of interesting wood, and ceramic stamps I made myself.
I also make non-historic pieces. Those will be noted. I like using natural elements in my textures.
